Named after one of the most prolific Bahraini personalities, Shaikh Ebrahim bin Mohammed Al-Khalifa, a leader in the fields of education, culture, and the social sciences, the centre was established as a forum for dialogue between people in philosophy, literature, poetry, culture and the arts. The cultural centre plays a crucial role in preserving the Kingdom's heritage with the restoration of traditional Bahraini houses in Muharraq and Manama being one of its most significant initiatives having restored 28 of these historic houses belonging to prominent Bahraini individuals or families.
